In her recent visit to Kenya, Gisele felt so inspired that she’s been writing on her Blog about her experiences in the country. We read about her first impressions of the region, and the solutions that are being developed by the members of the community. We also read about the power of a community, and the biogas centers that help convert human waste into gas that can be used for electricity.

This time, Gisele writes about a community leader called Zitah Jimoi, also known as Miss Kibera. She’s a woman that wants to change the outlook for young women in her neighborhood. “She emphasizes the importance of education and educates them in the fact that they have choices for how their futures unfold”, explains Gisele.

Exclusive interview to Caras magazine

Gracing the cover of Brazilian Caras magazine this week, Gisele shares with the magazine an exclusive interview about her recent visit to Kenya as part of her first mission as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations.

The issue shows Gisele in some exclusive images during several moments of her expedition through the capital Nairobi, and in Kibera, the largest slum on the African continent. The model also had the opportunity to visit a center that protects giraffes, and a shelter for orphaned elephants - all of this captured in beautiful images.

In her exclusive interview, Gisele talks about family, work, and also her experience in Kenya: “We need to get out of this bubble we live in and awake to the world. There are a few privileged people like us and we need to look around us and help change the situation of those that didn’t have the same opportunities”, emphasized Gisele. She completes: “Whether it is in Africa, in Brazil, or any other place in the world, there are people living in poverty just trying to survive, and they need our help”.

Versace Jeans

In 2012, Gisele once again graces the Versaceads. In addition to starring in the Spring/Summer campaign of the Italian brand, now our top model also brings all her sensuality and versatility to the new Versace Jeans collection as well.

The images highlight the gray tones and the dry climate of the Sonoran desert. The images were taken by the renowned photographers Mert  Alas and Marcus Piggott.

New Photos for Salvatore Ferragamo

2012 began with a bang! The  legendary Italian label Salvatore Ferragamo shows some photos of the new spring 2012 campaign  starring Gisele. Photographed by Mikael Jassen, the campaign was shot in a Jamaican paradise alongside model Noah Mills. 

The brand's creative director, Massimiliano Giornetti, told the magazine, "InStyle", “Gisele is the ideal woman to embody this collection because she represents extraordinary beauty, allure, and natural sophistication all at the same time”.
